Memorials
It's always tragic to lose one of our own.
They will live forever in our memories.
Here is a forum for us to share some of those special moments
with the rest of our

Rest in Peace Kathy.  She was a kind & sweet person.  Someone I was lucky to have as friend.  I will always remember you and your compassion for others.  From  Gerry Giannino

Tribute

From Ginny McVarish on June 2nd, 2021
Naomi was a very special friend from ninth grade through when she was hit by a car in her home of Richmond, Virginia, in 2017.  She attended school with many of us, but graduated from New Canaan High.  She was involved in music, in political issues, in triathalons, her work and her family and friends.  She was incredibly kind, caring and loyal, and I miss her every day.

HARRY ALAN TARPINIAN

November 23rd, 1953 - May 12th, 2016

ALAN TARPINIAN WAS THE ORIGINAL DRUMMER IN MY 'SILVER STREAKS' FROM 1964 UNTIL 1972 WHEN HE MOVED TO BOSTON TO ATTEND THE NEW ENGLAND CONSERVATORY OF MUSIC. ALAN WAS A GREAT FRIEND AND A VERY TALENTED MUSICIAN. CREATING MUSIC WITH HIM WAS A GENUINE JOY!  WE SEEMED TO READ EACH OTHER'S MIND ONSTAGE AND THE ENSUING ARRANGEMENTS EVOLVED IN A BEAUTIFUL WAY! A TALENTED AND TERRIFIC HUMAN BEING TAKEN FAR TOO SOON. REST IN PEACE ALAN.

Image I have many fond memories of Al including the time we both got together at his house to play music, the founding session of the Silver Streaks.  I regret that we did not keep in touch after high school.
This is a photo my brother Peter took of the early Silver Streaks band in 1967 when we played at Al's father's new car dealership, Ritar Ford.  I think the pose was copied from the television show "The Monkees" which was popular then.

From RUDY GISOLFI on April 24th, 2021
FYI -- IN THE PHOTO (l-Rudy Gisolfi r-Alan Tarpinian) THIS WAS TAKEN FROM A "SILVER STREAKS" PHOTO SHOOT WITH OUR NEW BABY BLUE JACKETS. FULL DISCLOSURE--THEY WERE FUZZY AND GOT CAUGHT ON OUR INSTRUMENTS. THEY DIDN'T LAST LONG. ACTUALLY THEY WERE AWFUL, LOL.
